Dr Athanasios Kalogeras is Research Director and Deputy Director of the Industrial Systems Institute of the ATHENA Research Center. He holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras. His research interests include industrial integration and interoperability, enterprise information systems, cyber physical systems, industrial internet of things (IIoT), flexible manufacturing systems, and collaborative manufacturing. Research in the above sectors is applied in diverse application areas including the manufacturing environment, critical infrastructure protection, smart cities, smart buildings, smart energy, smart health, smart applications for tourism / culture. He has extensive over 30 years of experience in the implementation, management and coordination of European and national funded projects, and has been involved in over 50 projects with different roles attracting funding of over 6MEuros. Has over 120 publications in scientific conferences and journals with good international recognition. He is a Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and a Senior Member of IEEE
