Eleni Marianou is a multilingual barrister specialized in International and European Law,with over 35 years of experience in EU affairs.
She currently serves as Senior Advisor on the EU budget (MFF) and Cohesion Policy at the Permanent Representation of Cyprus to the European Union. In this role, she also supports the government’s strategic preparations for the upcoming Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2026.
Ms. Marianou was Secretary General of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) for 15 years, where she led a team of 40 and elevated the organization to new heights of performance and visibility. A Greek national with extensive grassroots and institutional experience, she has worked closely with local and regional authorities across Europe.
Her earlier roles include European Community Liaison Officer at the Central Union of Greek Municipalities and Cities in Athens, Cities Networks Manager at the Council of European Municipalities and Regions in Paris, and Policy Director at Eurocities in Brussels. From 2001 to 2009, she served as Director of the Southwest of England Brussels Office, where she coordinated the region’s strategic presence
