Mr. Zannias has over 30 years of experience in significant and honorary positions in the sports sector in Greece and Internationally, as well as in the technical studies and constructions sector. He has a strong political and business network in Greece and abroad. 

He especially combines a unique experience, network and deep knowledge in the sports sector, varying from matters related to sports facilities, sports culture and education, sports events, along with deep experience in Olympic Games. More specifically: 

He has served for more than 35 years as President in one of the most successful sports club in Greece, President of the Hellenic Tennis Federation, as well as the President of the Balkan Tennis Union. Via his long-term dedication and hard work, he has significantly contributed to the emergence of Tennis in one of the most loved sports in Greece. Via his strategic vision and actions, there was a tremendous expansion and growth of this sport in Greece; almost every Greek neighborhood has now a tennis court, and international tennis stars have arisen, such as Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakari. 

As Head of various big Organizations, he has created a strong team of people for the successful organization of numerous significant international tennis events in Greece, which has attracted the global interest and participation, such as FED CUP – Tatoi Club (2018), DAVIS CUP – Lyttos Beach Hotel (2019) / Olympic Stadium (2023) /Panathinaic Stadium (2023) / Olympic Stadium Ano Liosia (2024), among other national and international tournaments which are part of the global ranking. 

Via the above roles and activities, and as being the oldest and most long-lasted member of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) as Member of the ITF Olympic Committee for 27 consecutive years, Mr Zannias is considered as one of the most respected and influential personalities in the national and international tennis family with close and strong international ties such as Wimbledon, Rolan Garros, Australian Open, US Open, Foro Italico, etc. 

Furthermore, he has served in various high-level roles in the Hellenic Olympic Committee, i.e. A’ & B’ Vice President, Member of the Executive Committee, President of the Torch Relay Commission, President of the Olympic Preparation Commission, Olympic Attache of the Greek Delegation «ΤΟΚΥΟ 2020».

He has also served for more than 8 years as Vice President of the International Olympic Academy (IOA), where, among other responsibilities, he is overseeing and managing all the technical matters of the IOA.

In addition to the above, Mr. Zannias has also participated in the organization Committee of “ATHENS 2024” as Member of the BoD. Via these roles he acquired a high-level experience in all the sports matters. This, combined with his official presence in 8 Olympic Games i.e. “Atlanta 1996”, “Sydney 200”, “Athens 2004”, “Beijing 2008”, “London 2012”, “Rio 2016”, “Tokyo 2020”, “Paris 2024” has provided him with deep knowledge and management experience in all kind of sports organization along with one of the strongest network in the global sports ecosystem.

As Member of the BoD of the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens – Spiros Louis (OAKA), he was involved in the preparation of the stadium -and all the surrounding mega sports constructions-  for hosting the Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony of the “ATHENS 2004”, the Olympic events which took place in this Stadium, e.g. the Athletics event, the Olympic Tennis event, the Swimming/Synchronized Swimming/Polo/Diving events, the Gymnastics event, the Cycling event, the Football Final event, the Basket Final event and many more.

All the above, combined with his 47 years of huge experience, still acting as an engineer and having an intensive contribution to the Greek society, has given him the ability to create efficient sustainable structures and teams to achieve tangible and non-tangible results.
