Place of birth Athens. Studies: Political Science Panteion University, University of Athens School of Law, Diploma of the International Institute of Human Rights Strasbourg. Diplomat at the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1976-2013. He served in the Embassies in Belgrade, Ankara, at the Permanent Representation at the UN Geneva, Ambassador to the UAE, Albania and Deputy Permanent Representative to the EU. In this position he dealt with issues regarding circular economy, blue development, international transport, shipping, environment, development aid, migration, refugees etc. EU Ambassador to UN Geneva (2008-12), where he dealt with issues of international security and disarmament, human rights, international and regional trade, etc. Principal Adviser on Disarmament issues at the European Action External Service, Brussels, since 2012, dealing with\u00a0 European security and disarmament policy, non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, cooperation with NATO and the OSCE, etc. EU Ambassador to International Organizations in The Hague from 2008-18, where he dealt with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court, the Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, etc. NATO Ambassador in Tirana (2003-6), where he dealt with issues of regional security, NATO enlargement and synergies with other organizations such as the EU and the OSCE. He participated in important international conferences, including OSCE 2 in Helsinki (1992), the 1st Committee of the UN General Assembly, Vice-President of the General Assembly of the International Organization for Migration 1992-3, etc. Author of books\/studies\/articles on international relations and contemporary geopolitical developments. Lecturer on these issues to post-gratuare students of various Universities. Translator of various literary works of internationally renowned authors.
