Sofia Gialama is a PhD Candidate at the University of West Attica, specialising in climate vulnerability assessment in infrastructure using Artificial Intelligence (AI). She is a Senior ESG Consultant, delivering international advisory projects in EMEA, APAC and the USA. Ms Gialama is also a Climate Risk Professional certified by the Chartered Banker Institute based in the United Kingdom (UK). Ms Gialama manages projects in sustainable finance, ESG due diligence, and ESG integration in corporate governance, business strategy, risk management and reporting. As a former Team Leader at the Governance and Accountability Institute (G&A) based in New York, she has practical experience in ESG data analysis of companies operating in the USA, UK, and Ireland. Furthermore, as a former EU Projects Consultant at the Region of Crete (regional government authority), she has significant experience in EU projects implementation on Green Economy, Blue Growth, Circular Economy, and Nature-Based Solutions. Her project experience includes working with international financial institutions, large corporations as well as Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in more than 25 countries across Europe, Caucasus, Asia, North Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas.
