Eirini Karanastasi is an Associate Professor at the University of Patras, Department of Agriculture. Her research interests focus on Plant Protection and has expertise in Agricultural Nematology, whereas more recently she has been active on the exploitation of insects as food and feed. She has served as Erasmus+ Departmental Coordinator for the Department of Agricultural Technology of the Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece. She has supervised over 20 R&D Projects of governmental/SME initiative and participated in many others, including Cost Actions and one Innovation Hub for Herbs and Essential Oils. She has published more than 100 papers in peer reviewed international journals and conferences and participated in translating 5 book chapters. She is Editor-in Chief for Entomologia Hellenica and has been member of editorial boards and reviewer in various international journals and conferences.
