Dimitris Voloudakis
Capacity Building Director, New Agriculture New Generation

Dimitris graduated from Agricultural University of Athens. He holds a PhD degree in Agronomy with a specialization in Climate Change Impacts on Agriculture. His doctoral research was funded by the EU and the Greek Ministry of Education. He was one of the main authors of the Study about the Impacts of Climate Change on Greek Agriculture of the National Climate Change Study Committee. Prior to that he worked for the Greek Ministry of Agriculture in the General Secretariat of European Funds and Infrastructure. From 2011 to 2014 he worked in the European Parliament in Brussels and from 2014 to 2019 at the European Parliament’s branch in Athens as an advisor for the Agricultural and Rural Development Committee. From 2014 to 2015 he worked as a National Expert in the Greek Educational Organization for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance (E.O.P.P.E.P) in Athens. From 2018 to 2020, he worked as a senior expert in the field of climate services for the private (Envirometrics LTD) and public (Academy of Athens) sector, developing strategy climate change adaptation plans in Regional, National and International Projects. From January 2019, he works as Capacity Building Director in the “New Agriculture New Generation” organization. He supervised and coordinated more than 50 training and capacity building programs, involving 225 trainers and more than 7.500 young farmers and beneficiaries. Since October 2020, as a scientific associate of the Academy of Athens he is responsible for developing the national framework for climate change adaptation indicators and a monitoring and assessment process for the sectors of Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture and Fisheries in the context of the LIFE IP AdaptINGr Project. He teaches the course “Agriculture modeling under climate change” in the framework of the Master Program “Geoinformation in Environmental Management” in the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania. From January 2023, he is a part-time instructor in the American College of Greece in the Environmental Studies Program. Finally, he is member of the Working Group for Environment and Climate Change of the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food.
