Maximos Kaliakatsos-Papakostas is an Associate Professor in AI in Music at the Department of Music Technology and Acoustics, Hellenic Mediterranean University, where he serves as Head of the Department. He is also a collaborating faculty member at the ATHENA Research Center and the School of Music Studies, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.. He holds a PhD in the Application of Computational Intelligence Methods in Music from the Department of Mathematics, University of Patras, having obtained a Master’s Degree in Computational Mathematics and a degree in Mathematics from the same Department. His research interests concern the connection of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods with cognitive science methods through music. He has experience in participating and coordinating European and National research projects, in collaboration with universities in Greece and other European countries. He has also developed commercial audio and music applications, in collaboration with companies and artists in Greece and the USA.
