Born in Piraeus, Greece, 1958.
Studied at the University of Athens, Dental Medicine (DDS – 1984 degree) and History of Art (post graduate – no degree).
Married to Eufrosyne Albanopoulou; they have two sons, 29 and 25 y.o.
Lives in Athens, Greece.
WORK
1984 – 2015: worked as an editor, writer and art critic for various magazines and journals.
In 1993 he joined the daily newspaper ‘Kathimerini’: editor in chief and political
columnist 2004-2015.
2020: Radio “105.5 Sto Kokkino”: director, broadcaster. TVXS.GR: columnist.
POLITICS
Elected Member of Parliament, Jan. 2015 and Sept. 2015.
Alternate Minister of Culture, 2015.
Alternate Minister for Foreign Affairs, 2015-2016: He visited most European capitals,
negotiating solutions for the refugee crisis, and contributing to the dialogue on
democratic and progressive Europe.
Majority Floor Leader, Hellenic Parliament, 2016-2018.
SOCIAL
Member of the International Association of Art Critics – AICA.
In 2009 he won the Hellenic Parliament / Botsis Foundation Award for Political Writing.
Member of ESIEA – Athens Union of Newspaper Journalists.
He has published essays mostly, but also fiction and poetry.
