Dr. Sotirios Triantafyllou was born in Athens, Greece. He holds a PhD Degree from Panteion University (Department of Communication, Media and Culture) and he also holds a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Culture and Communication from Panteion University (Department of Communication, Media and Culture). He is teaching staff in university of Patras, department of History and Archeology, in the postgraduate program of Sports Journalism in University of Peloponnese, department of Sports Management and he is also Instructor of Journalism in Public Institutes of Professional Learning (DIEK).
Professional journalist since 1992, present work Director of Communication of Hellenic Football Federation. He has also worked in sports and political newspapers, television and radio stations, having covered major sports events (Olympic Games, World Cups and European Football Championships). He has also been a columnist for sports, political, historical and social issues, and has worked as a presenter of TV and radio broadcasts and newscasts.
He is president of the Panhellenic Federation of Journalist’s Unions (POESY). He was president of the Greek Sports Journalists Association (2012-2018), member of the Executive Committee of the European Union of Sports Jounalists (2017-2022) and member of the Executive Committee of the Union of Sports Journalists of Southeastern Europe (2014-2016). In 2019 he was awarded by the Foundation Promotion of Journalism “Athanasiou Bas. Mpotsi” for his contribution to the Journalism.
