Andreas Panagiotopoulos, Member, Hellenic Parliament (SYRIZA-PS party), Head of the Health Department of the SYRIZA-PS Parliamentary Group and First Vice-President of the Special Standing Committee on Road Safety of the Hellenic Parliament.

He was born in Karaiika, Achaia.

He studied medicine at the University of Patras and specialized in cardiology.

From 1994 to 2010 he worked as a specialist cardiologist as the head of the Cardiorespiratory Center of Patras, while from 1997 to 2002 he worked at the Social Insurance Public Institution (IKA) as a doctor and medical controller. In 1999, he was vice-president of the board of directors of the medical association I.K.A. Patras.

In 2018, scientific Head of the Health Center of the Northern Sector of Patras in the 6th Y.P.E. In the same year, he was elected vice-president of the scientific staff association of P.F.Y.

In 1994 he was elected president of the Local Community Karaiika. In October 2002 he was elected mayor of the Municipality of Movri and in October 2006 he was re-elected to the same position. In the municipal elections of 2010, he was elected mayor of the enlarged municipality of Western Achaia. Finally, in May 2014 he was elected municipal councilor of the Municipality of Patreon, head of the “Agonizomenoi Polites” (“StrugglingCitizens”).

Since 2015, he has been consistently elected as a member of the Achaia Prefectural Committee of SY.RIZ.A. and in 2022 he was elected a member of the Central Committee of SY.RIZ.A. – Progressive Alliance.

In the parliamentary elections of 2019, was elected as the third MP of SYRIZA-PS for the Constituency of Achaia, a seat that was eventually held by the party’s president, Alexis Tsipras.

In the successive national elections of May and June 2023, he was elected Member of Parliament for the Constituency of Achaia.
