Dimitrios Katsaros is a graduate of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment of the School of Geotechnical Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki from where he then received his PhD.
In addition, he holds two Master’s Degrees (MSc), specializing in “Ecological Management and Environmental Technology” from the Department of Biology of the University of Patras and in “Geological processes in the lithosphere” from the Geological Department of the same Institution.
He speaks English and French.
He has served as an executive in Local Government (Hellenic Agency for Local Development and Local Government – EETAA, Local Union of Municipalities and Communities of Achaia Prefecture, Development Companies of Local Authorities, etc.), in Regional Authorities (Regions of Western Greece and Peloponnese) and in Organizations for the Protection of the Natural Environment (Goulandris Natural History Museum – Greek Biotope Wetland Centre – EKBY, etc.).
He also served as a President in the Management Body of Kotychi – Strofylia NPID of the Ministry of Environment and Energy during the three-year period 2006-2009.
He worked as an executive in the Special Management Service as well as in the Regional Development Fund of the Region of Western Greece.
He has extensive study and research experience in Natural Environment Management and Risk Analysis due to climate change, having served as coordinator of important pilot transnational projects of the organization.
He has participated in several research programs, with his published papers in Greek and International scientific journals of recognized prestige and with his announcements in scientific conferences in Greece and abroad.
