Dr. Dimitrios D. Piromalis is Associate Professor in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at the University of West Attica (UNIWA) in Athens, Greece. Former director of the research laboratory of Electronic Automation, Telematics and Cyber-Physical Systems (EATCPS) and recent founder and member of the research laboratory of Smart Technologies, Renewable Energy Sources and Quality (STRESQ Lab). His research interests include the design and development of electronic embedded systems in application areas such as autonomous vehicles, internet of things (IoT), physical security and cyber-physical systems (CPS). He is the author of more than two hundred publications in international scientific research journals, conferences and book chapters with high impact and many citations. Also, he is the author of several books covering engineering subjects. In addition, Prof. Piromalis has collaborated with top multinational semiconductors industries as Field Application Engineer and Technical Consultant for the last twenty-five years. Prof. Piromalis has been the designer of many innovative electronic systems produced in the domestic and global markets. Also, he is responsible for several European and National research projects.
