Georgios Zervos
Special Secretary for European Regional Development Fund and Cohesion Fund Programmes Management

Giorgos Zervos is a Political Scientist, graduate of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens – School of Law – Department of Political Science and Public Administration. He holds a master’s degree in Sustainable Development Strategies in the Local Administration Program of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He has work experience in both the private and public sector. Since 2002, Mr Zervos has been working as an executive in the Management Organization Unit (MOU SA in managing EU co-funded Programmes. Throughout his professional career, he has held the office of Head of Management Authorities for 11 years in the Ministries of Labor, Health and Development & Investments. Moreover, he has been appointed as Head of the Greek Delegation to the Committee of the European Social Fund (ESF Committee) and as Scientific Manager of the Program regarding the spatial planning for the mergers of the Local and Regional Authorities, which was  part of the implementation of the Kapodistrias Plan.

He has carried out numerous researches and studies focusing on issues of human resources development and social cohesion and has published articles in scientific journals and collective volumes. Mr Zervos has also taken part as speaker at conferences in Greece and abroad, while having participated in numerous research and consulting programs.

Since 2020 he has been appointed Special Secretary for European Regional Development Fund and Cohesion Fund Programmes Management at Ministry of Economy and Finance.
