Born in 1975, he was raised in Ilia, where he completed his school studies. He is married to dentist Ioanna Adamou and has 2 children.
He is a graduate of the Athens University Dentistry School and holds two Master’s degrees, in Oral Biology (University of Athens, Dentistry School) and Health Services Administration (National School of Public Health). He is a PhD Candidate of Health Policy in the University of Peloponnese.
In 2007, he was elected for the first time as a Member of Parliament for Ilia district with PA.SO.K., and was re-elected in 2009, 2019 and in the double elections of 2023. In January 2021, he was appointed a parliamentary representative of the PASOK-Movement for Change Parliamentary Group, while in December 2021 he was unanimously elected Ηead of the PASOK-Movement for Change Parliamentary Group, following a proposal by the Party President, Nikos Androulakis. After the 2023 elections, he has been appointed again as a parliamentary representative of the party.
In the past, he had been a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the Western European Union (WEU), as well as the Parliamentary Assembly of the South-East European Cooperation Process (PROCESS-SEECP), while since October 2023 he has been a regular member of the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO.
Currently, he is a member of the Central Committee and the Political Assembly of PASOK-Movement for Change.
