Thanos is currently the Vice Governor of Tourism for the Peloponnese Region, Greece. He was elected as Regional Councilor to the Region of Peloponnese in 2024. Prior to this position, he has served as Municipal Councilor for the Sparti Municipality, during which he held the positions of President of the Tourism Development Committee and President of the New Technologies and Innovation Committee.
Thanos has had a career in the private sector as a consultant primarily in the Hospitality and Tourism industry, with clientele including both private and public entities. He has provided consulting, planning, managing and evaluation services for various development programs, concerning the installation and the curation of digital information systems, strategies, marketing plans and product development in tourism sector.
He is also the owner and General Manager of an under development Hotel in Vathia – Mani and has worked independently as a Mountain Leader and Experience Guide for outdoor and cultural experiences.
Thanos has a BSc Degree from the Athens University of Economics and Business / Department of Business Administration (2011) and is an MSc Degree candidate at the Hellenic Open University / Business Administration in Tourism (Patras).
Finally, he holds a Degree as Mountain Leader from the Public Vocational Training Institute, Certificates in Climbing, Winter Climbing, Mountaineering and Ski Mountaineering (Beginner and Middle Range) from the Hellenic Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing, and a Beginner and Middle Range Certification in Caving from the Hellenic Speleological Society.
