Vasileios Papasotiropoulos is Professor of Genetics – Plant Breeding in the Department of Crop Science, Agriculture University of Athens, Greece. He is a graduate of the Agricultural University of Athens and holds a Ph.D. in Genetics from the Department of Biology, University of Patras. From 2001 to 2005, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Applied Genomics, Rutgers University, USA. His research interests focus on the genetic analysis of horticultural crops and aromatic and medicinal plants to identify genotypes with superior traits for breeding. He has participated in several national and international research projects and has published several research publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has been awarded a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship for post-doctoral studies and is a member of the European Association for Research on Plant Breeding (EUCARPIA).
