Aigli Dafni
Lawyer – PhD in Bioethics, Medical School, Democritus University of Thrace Lecturer, Department of Informatics, Ionian University, Member of the Scientific Committee & Head of Thematic Sections Management, Hellenic Society of Bioethics, Holder of the lifelong digital badge “Ethics in AI” – London School of Economics (LSE)
Aigli Dafni holds a law degree from the Law School of the Democritus University of Thrace, two Master’s degrees (in Bioethics from the Medical School of DUTH and in Civil Procedural Law from the Law School of DUTH), and a PhD in Bioethics from the Medical School of DUTH. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the multifactorial approach to informed consent, exploring its legal and medical dimensions within the Greek and international context.
She also holds a lifelong digital badge in Ethics in AI from the London School of Economics (LSE), which enhances her academic and research engagement with the ethical challenges of artificial intelligence, particularly in the fields of health, social justice, environmental ethics, and the protection of fundamental rights.
She served as a regular external member of the Research Ethics and Deontology Committee at Democritus University of Thrace (2021-2023), and as an Academic Fellow at the Department of Forensic Medicine of the Medical School of DUTH (2021-2023), where she taught Bioethics, Medical Ethics, Forensic Medicine, and Criminal Law. Since 2024, she has been a Lecturer at the Department of Informatics at Ionian University, focusing on the interconnection between ethics, law, and technology. She is an active member of the Scientific Committee of the Hellenic Society of Bioethics, while also serving as Head of Thematic Sections Management, covering the full spectrum of contemporary bioethical issues, contributing to the formulation of scientific strategy and the development of interdisciplinary initiatives.
