Effie Lazaridou

CEO & Executive Member of the General Assembly, New Agriculture New Generation

Effie has been leading the non-profit organization New Agriculture New Generation from its programmatic announcement in 2018 to the present day

The organization has supported 34,000+ professionals and 120+ small, family-run, and startup businesses, contributing to the establishment of new cooperative models and the development of numerous agrifood products. It has built an extensive network of partners and supporters while maintaining a strategic collaboration with Rutgers University in the USA. With a multiplier effect of 5.35, the organization generates significant value for the Greek economy, supporting the primary production and food sector as a viable career choice for young people.

Her leadership has earned the organization national and international recognition. It was highlighted as a European Best Practice by DG Agri of the European Commission and received praise from the Greek Prime Minister at the 86th Thessaloniki International Fair. It was also selected for the 3M Impact Global initiative and, by invitation from the Hungarian Government, participated in the ECOSOC Youth Forum 2023 at the United Nations. Today, New Agriculture New Generation is expanding its impact in the Mediterranean by launching a partnership with the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean of the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Effie was featured in the “Women Leaders” publication by Kathimerini for her work. She is a Board Member at the Smart Agro Hub Competence Center and is actively involved in key industry committees, including the Agrotechnology Committee of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, the Agricultural Economy Committee of the German-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, the Agricultural Development Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce Women, and the “Greek Nutrition 2.0” initiative of the Greek Ministry of Rural Development and Food. She frequently writes about human resources, female entrepreneurship, and empowerment in the agrifood sector. In 2024, she was awarded “NGO Manager of the Year.”

Effie is an experienced marketing strategist with a strong track record of delivering complex international and nationally significant projects in Greece. She played a key role in shaping the Marketing & Branding Strategy for Greece as a Tourism Destination, the largest communication consulting project ever conducted in the country, as well as the International Marketing & Branding Strategy for Greek Wine.

She holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and postgraduate degrees in Cultural Management from City University of London and in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in London. She is a certified adult educator, business coach and Associate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing London. She also serves as a mentor in entrepreneurship programs and volunteers at Make-A-Wish Greece.
