Maryse Coutsouradis

Deputy Head. Representation of the European Commission, Greece

Maryse Coutsouradis started as Deputy Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Greece on 1st January 2025.

Prior to coming to Athens (2020-2024), Ms Coutsouradis was Deputy Permanent Representative of the European Union (EU) at the EU Delegation to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris (France). Between 1999 and 2007, she served at the EU Delegation to the USA in Washington DC and at the EU Delegation to the UN Organisations in Rome (Italy).

Maryse Coutsouradis has a solid experience from the European Commission in Brussels including 13 years in the Directorate General for Trade, where she worked on relations with developing countries, South East Asia and Latin America. She also served previously in the Directorate General for Agriculture, where she dealt with bilateral relations with European Free Trade Area countries (notably Switzerland and Norway), and Mediterranean countries (in particular Egypt and Israel). She worked at the Directorate General for Regional Policy dealing with structural funds in Greece. She was part of the Cabinet of the Commissioner for Environment and Fisheries, Ioannis Paleokrassas from 1992 to 1994.

Ms Coutsouradis holds a Master degree in Translation from Brussels (Belgium) and also studied at the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki (Greece). 

Maryse Coutsouradis is both Belgian and Greek.
