Peter D. Kapsaskis

President & Founder of the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy

Peter D. Kapsaskis is the President and Founder of the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy. Mr. Kapsaskis was born in Athens but hails from Zakynthos, where his family settled around 1534.

He attended the Italian high school “Vittorio Alfieri” in Rome and continued his studies at the renowned Italian institution “Maria Montessori Institute” in Rome. Subsequently, he was admitted to Panteion University, where he studied Political Science and History while interning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diplomatic Academy.

After completing his military service, he pursued further education in London at the Department of Geopolitics and Security of the Royal Holloway University of London. During the same period, he completed an internship at the commercial section of the Greek Embassy in London. He also interned at the European Parliament in the DGCOM department (Department of Art).

In February 2017, he founded the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy, headquartered in Athens. In December 2018, he established the Soft Power Awards, presented at the Old Parliament of Greece. He contributed his own work to the collective volume on Cultural Diplomacy published in 2020 by Sakkoulas Publications, an initiative of the Krispis Foundation. In 2024, he was awarded a Doctorate in Cultural Diplomacy with honors. In 2025, his first book, The Power of Cultural Diplomacy, was published by Sideris Publications.

Ηe participated in many important fora, panels and talks including Tedx, ISPI, ISTAO, Delphi Forum, Blue Heritage Forum, Global Armenian Summit and many others. He speaks Italian, English, and French and has worked as a translator, columnist, consultant, and academic collaborator with companies, cultural organizations, and research institutes.
