Tzanetos Pomonis is a graduate of Computer Engineering & Informatics Department, University of Patras with a PhD in Web technologies.

He participated as a senior researcher and technical manager in several European and Greek R&D projects in ICT, mainly in Culture, Environment and Tourism fields.

His interests lie in Local and Regional Development, Sustainable Development Policies, Tourism Destination Management, Development Models of Special Forms of Tourism and Cultural Tourism.

He is National Representative of Greece (Voting & Expert Member) in the International Scientific Committee on Cultural Tourism of ICOMOS (ICTC). 

He is also a member (dep. Secretary) of Regional Scientific Council for Research and Innovation of Ionian Islands, as well as a member of Permanent Scientific Committee on Culture and Tourism of Technical Chamber of Greece/Regional Department of Western G
