He has published extensively in international scientific journals among which: Regional Studies, Applied Regional Analysis and Policy, Environment and Planning A, Environment and Planning C: Government and Policy, Cambridge Journal of Regions, Economy and Society, Journal of Economic Geography, Regional Science: Policy and Practice, European Urban and Regional Studies, Papers in Regional Science, Territory, Politics, Governance. His publications have received 886 references in Google Scholar and has reached 20.95 high index in Research gate.
Academic-professional experience and activity
Yannis Psycharis is a Professor of Regional Economic Analysis at the Department Economic and Regional Development, Panteion University in Athens and Director of the Regional Development Institute. He has also taught at the Department of Planning and Regional Development of the University of Thessaly in Volos (2000-2009). He was senior research fellow at the London School of Economics, former Director of the Greek National School of PublicAdministration and Local Government (2010-2012) and President of the Greek section of the European Regional Science Association. His research interests include regional economic analysis, regional policy, regional public finance and public administration. He has written many articles in international scientific journals and has participated in a large number of international research projects. He has been an expert for the Council of Europe and the OECD, member in international experts committees and scientific advisor to Ministries of Interior and Economy and Finance and the Association of Local Government in Greece.
