Zefi Dimadama

Lecturer, Panteion University of Social & Political Sciences, Department of
International, European & Regional Studies, former General Secretary for Equality & Human Rights

She is a Lecturer at the Department of International, European and Area Studies at Panteion University. She holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in the scientific field of Regional Development and Environmental Policies.

She has served as Secretary General for Gender Equality and Human Rights at the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family, as well as Director General of the International Center for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS). She is currently President of the Union of Women of Greece and an active member of international networks, including the Global Network “Leading Women for Oceans” (LWO) and the Global Alliance for Feminist Transport.

With a strong presence in international forums, she has made significant contributions to research in the fields of Economics, Sustainable Regional Development, and Gender Equality. Her academic and research activities focus on the climate crisis and the empowerment of women and girls, through global collaborations and initiatives.

She is the author of two monographs: “Economy, Development, Environment: Theoretical Approaches and Sustainable Development Policies” (Papazisis Publications, 2008) and “Sustainable Economic Development: The Integration of the 17 UN Goals – Economic and Environmental Dimensions” (Papazisis Publications, 2021). Additionally, she actively contributes to Greek and international scientific publications through individual and collective research papers.

She is an honorary member of the Advisory Committee of the International Center for Black Sea Studies (ICBSS) and the American Meteorological Society (AMS) – Ad Hoc International Committee for Meteorology and Climate Change, Board on Enterprise Economic Development, based in Boston, USA.
