Yiannis Latoudis is currently Political Advisor in the Parliamentary Group of the Socialists & Democrats  in the European Parliament  with responsibility for the operation and development of the common agricultural policy and rural development. He has spent most of his career working in European Institutions.  He was a member of the European Parliament  negotiating team in the negotiations of the new CAP 2023-2027. Before that he served as a member and deputy head of Cabinet of Commissioner Corina Cretu (2014-2019), part  of the team which prepared  the  legislative and financial proposals for cohesion policy 2021-2027. Previously, in the period 2004-2014 he was following in the European Parliament   budgetary and cohesion policies and assisted as a  senior advisor to the European Parliament’s chief negotiator on the legislative package of cohesion policy 2014-2020, and in the period 1999-2004 having dealt with enlargement, especially with Cyprus accession to the EU. In 2003 he served as a member of the Greek Presidency team in the European Convention.
